School Europolis is an
exciting project bringing together teachers and students from across Europe.
There are currently five schools involved in the project, from Belgium, Denmark,
France Norway and the UK. The main aim is for young people to communicate and
get to know each other using Internet technologies such as e-mail, web sites and
conferencing. The project provides an important opportunity for students to use
the Internet in a critical way, by evaluating web sites and sharing views with
other participants. There are also opportunities for teachers and students to
visit each other's countries, meeting face-to-face and finding out about ways of
life in different parts of Europe.
Francois
Daneel,
As the project becomes established, with the five partner schools leading the way, it is hoped that
other students and teachers from all over the world will be able to participate
by using the School Europolis website. This will eventually become a virtual
meeting point for students by providing links to a wide range of evaluated web
resources and as well as online discussions.
